How to get Microsoft Bluetooth desktop working on vista Beta

I couldn't get my Microsoft Bluetooth desktop working on vista Beta 2. Which drivers should I use?
Thanks, Patrick.

there are native drivers (at least in x64 beta 2). go to control panel, bluetooth, and add a device - turn discovery on. select no passkey. for me, first the mouse was discovered, then I re ran to find the keyboard. i obviously had a different (wired usb) keyboard and mouse connected while getting the devices paired. now it works fine while inside Vista. If you need to select custom boot options before Vista loads, you will not be able to use the BT desktop as the driver will not be loaded.

Thanks, I will try this! You should simplify this issue in some way for non-experienced users. - In the case vista finds a bluetooth dongle after install, it should automatically ask the user whether to search for devices. - It would be usefull as well, to have the possibility of using the bluetooth mouse and keyboard while installing. I know that the problem is that the drivers are not yet loaded at this point, but it is really not practical to connect a regular keyboard and mouse to install.
Patrick.

....and this is why a "beta" is not a final product, and also why "non-experienced" users should not be attempting a beta OS...

No, you are absolutely wrong,
I'm not a "non-experienced" user but a public BETA is aimed to point out the bugs/defects of the software for all users, not just for geeks. I think that this defect will cause trouble to non-experienced users, that is why I point it out.
So
try not to fill the forums with this kind of replies, they are simply not usefull to anyone.

MS Bluetooth wireless desktop is the combo which combines wireless bluetooth mouse + keyboard.
There is no icon on the desktop, to get to re-couple the devices with Vista you shoud go to control panel, network and then on bluetooth add the devices.
For the mouse you should use no passkey, for the keyboard you can choose your own or an automatically generated password and then when prompted you must type it on your keyboard followed by enter. Note that you will not see what you are typing!
Hope
this helps. Patrick.

I'm new to this site, I've been trying all night to find the Microsoft Bluetooth desktop, with no luck. I have service pack 2 but can't find it anywhere. This all came about after I purchased a Motorolla Headset with USB PC Adapter. My Blackberry doesn't accept Motorolla's bluetooth. Any ideas?

Hey Patrick,
Try this link: http://www.pro-networks.org/forum/ptopic54463.html
It tells how to install the software and be able to use the intellitype software as well.
Hey MARK. If you don't have anything constructive to say why do you bother joining in on the Newsgroups? Assuming only makes an ASS out of you in this case.
Good luck Patrick!

Hello,
This is a windows VISTA not a XP service pack 2 forum. Anyway, as I said you will never find the bluetooth desktop as this is not a program or an icon but it is a combo of two pieces of hardware, mouse and keyboard.
For your problem with bluetooth, try searching on windows xp forums, I don't have a motorola headset and usb bluetooth adapter to test on.

My comment was not directed at you, but more of a flip remark about some of the people attempting to use this beta when they don't have a clue how to burn an image or access their BIOS.
If by discouraging this type of user from demolishing their system, and therefore saving them from grief, if you think about it from that perspective, it does some good.

And to think that I actually BOUGHT this desktop for my Apple Intel iMac just for Vista.
What a waste of money on my part.

I cannot get my keyboard or mouse to work on Vista Beta2, any ideas? Which drivers should I use?
Thank you, Patrick.
